When purchasing a telephone headset it is important to think about what kind of assurance you have that your headset will work effectively and last for a sufficient amount of time without breaking.

Most technological devices these days come with some form of warranty that will either be included in the price of your headset, or available at an additional cost.  Either way, a warranty is certainly worth keeping hold of when purchasing a telephone headset.

Warrantees are available over a certain period of time and can cover a variety things such as loss, damage and theft.  Ensure you are clear on what your warranty covers before you purchase it.  After all, you don't want to find yourself without a headset and without any option to replace it but by buying a new one.

Damaged headsets can also be repaired under the guidelines of a warranty.
If you are using your headset on a daily basis it may suffer everyday wear and tear.

The microphone can become moist and suffer damage, the ear pieces can become blocked with sweat and skin oils, and the wires and cords can easily be damaged if not cared for correctly.

A key example of when this occurs is after a long hard day when the last thing you want to do is spend time putting your headset away correctly.  Folded wires can easily tear and become damaged, and in these circumstances your headset may need certain parts repairing or replacing.

As headset are fragile devices, it is important that you not only ensure they are looked after correctly, but are also covered against any potential damage or breaks.
