There are countless options available for the call centre today, so many more than were possible just 10 short years ago. Price is the first consideration for most companies, with call centre headsets being offered from the reasonable cost range to the obscene, and the initial cost of purchase being just half of the projected expenses for the 4 year life expectancy of the units chosen. Functionality and compatibility, therefore, are key when choosing call centre headsets.

First, call centre headsets are available in either VOIP or traditional TDMA technologies, the first of these being the latest and most up and coming choice for ease of use and convenience. The traditional TDMA call centre headsets are run from a very specific adapter, while the VOIP has a USB for connection to the computer system. Of all of the options available to the user, this is the one that will need the most consideration, as these are not interchangeable.

Binaural and monaural call centre headsets are available, the most favorable and common style being the monaural. This allows the user to execute communication as if on the telephone, while enjoying hands free mobility. This also allows workers to remain cognizant of coworkers and other important office communications. Binaural call centre headsets are used under certain circumstances, and this is determined based on the noise level of the area and the business type represented.

Amplifiers are an all important factor for call centre headsets, with many of today’s models boasting them onboard. This is of great consideration when replacing or replenishing office inventory, determining whether the desk amplifiers are more or less cost effective than replacing units with all in one headsets and amplifiers.

Noise cancellation technology is imperative for call centre headsets, and should be of utmost consideration when updates, operations, and inventory are being configured. Noise cancellation and wind noise reduction microphones allow the user to remain clear and concise even through a great deal of clamour and confusion, such is often the case with the call centre environment. Most of these important features are available in a multitude of attachment modes.
